SINGLE TOOTH IMPLANTS

If you have a single, missing tooth, an implant is the best way to restore your smile for two key reasons. One, unlike a bridge, an implant will not harm the healthy teeth surrounding the missing one. Two, if you take care of it properly, an implant will last a lifetime.

Please scroll down to read about our Multiple Tooth Implants.

MULTIPLE DENTAL IMPLANTS

For patients who have several missing teeth, the PDG Team recommends implants. There are several key reasons that implants can help restore your smile. One, multiple implants are the best combination of aesthetics, comfort and functionality. Two, unlike a fixed bridge or removable dentures, implants do not rely on and therefore compromise the adjacent natural teeth. Three, the implants will act in the same way as your natural roots and help maintain the health and integrity of the bone. Finally, if you take care of your new teeth they can last a lifetime.

FULL ARCH DENTAL IMPLANTS

For patients missing most of their teeth, the PDG Team recommends full arch dental implants. There are three key reasons that full arch dental implants can help restore your smile. One, with full arch dental implants, you will have the exact functionality of natural teeth. Two, full arch dental implants will help prevent jawbone degeneration which will also help maintain your facial structure. Three, if you take care of them properly, they will last a lifetime, with minimal upkeep on the tooth structure  replacement portion over time.

All-on-4 PROCEDURE

For patients who are missing all of their teeth, if not most of their teeth, the PDG Team recommends “All on 4 Implant” procedure. In certain cases where full arch implants are not possible (6 or more implants are required or because the patient is lacking jawbone strength), four implants can use strategically as anchors for a fixed bridge.

IMPLANT SUPPORTED DENTURES

For patients missing all of their teeth, needing full face cheek and lip support that fixed implant bridges cannot provide, or a less  costly alternative, the PDG team may recommend Implant-supported dentures because they provide the patient with more stability than a traditional removable denture. Implant-supported dentures  will not fall out of your mouth and are also easier to talk and eat with than conventional removable dentures. Implant-supported dentures DO NEED to be taken out daily to be cleaned.

IMMEDIATE TOOTH REPLACEMENT

PDG was one of  the first practices in the Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, Maryland area to offer  the Immediate Tooth Replacement concept.  A groundbreaking procedure that Dr. Vincent Prestipino helped to design and continues to develop, Immediate Tooth Replacement allows our dentists to provide for our patients “your third set of teeth,” in less than a day’s treatment. Immediate Tooth Replacement fills the gaps caused by missing teeth and gets rid of annoying dentures. Incredibly, PDG is able to provide this new set of teeth in just one day because the practice has immediate access to a dental lab that has designed thousands of these restorations. This procedure can be performed for a single or several teeth as well as for a full arch restoration. Please call for more information about Immediate Tooth Replacement and see if your particular situation will allow for this exciting technique.
