We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to new safer habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority and we follow recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the American Dental Association (ADA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
The safety and health of our patients and team members remain our number one priority as the world continues to combat the Coronavirus pandemic. As dental professionals, we share the responsibility along with all healthcare workers to ensure a safe environment for all.
“Will I be safe?” Everyone has their own personal thoughts on getting back out into society. Some more liberal, some more conservative and some with a “as needed” basis. Whatever your thoughts on your dental health are, we respect them and are here to accommodate you with whatever makes you comfortable. Feel free to communicate openly with us about your mindset and we will work together to get you back into routine dental hygiene maintenance and dental treatment at the right time for you.
We ask our guests to reschedule their appointments if they exhibit any of the symptoms described by CDC. There will be no charges for appointment cancellations or rescheduling.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
Only patients with scheduled appointments may enter our office. Anyone accompanying patients to their appointment must remain in their cars or outside at least 6 feet away from others.
Temperature checks: You must be wearing a mask when you arrive to our office and all staff members will be wearing masks too. A mask will be provided for you if you do not have one. Upon arrival, your temperature will be taken with a non contact forehead thermometer. Similarly, temperatures will be taken of all staff members each day.
If you feel uncomfortable in the waiting room, we can arrange with you while you wait in your car, a text message informing you of us being ready for seating you directly in the operatory when you come into the office. If your cell phone does not work in the garage then you can wait in the building lobby on L level or outside on the patio behind the elevators on L level.
Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
Remote consultations and follow up (Tele-dentistry) will be implemented to minimize onsite appointments if possible.
We also want to inform you of the additional safely measures our office is taking to ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff.
All dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants will be wearing N95 masks, surgical masks, plastic face shields, isolation gowns, head covers, and of course, gloves.
Every patient will be asked to rinse with 1.5% hydrogen peroxide for 1 minute prior to beginning treatment to vastly reduce bacteria and viruses from the mouth.
There will be HEPA room air filters in reception areas, as well as advanced air purifiers in every operatory room continuously running to completely filter and purify the air multiple times each hour.
In addition, for all dental procedures that could potentially create an aerosol, we will be utilizing an extra-oral dental aerosol suction unit.
Sneeze guards have been placed at both reception desks as an additional barrier of protection between patients and front office staff.
All common spaces, including reception areas, seats, counters, door knobs, bathrooms etc. will be disinfected regularly throughout the day.
We are proceeding with an abundance of caution, but we want you to feel as confident as we do that any visit you make to our office will be a safe one.
